11. April 2018
Yesterday evening, the annual European Digital Media Awards were presented in Copenhagen. The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) awards in several categories. The WESER-KURIER can claim the second place in the category Best in Lifestyle, Sports, Entertainment, Mobile Services. The jury honoured the Mein Werder app with a “Special Mention”. The app has been developed by the Berlin app specialist Neofonie Mobile.
My Werder app gives impulses on digital fan experience
My Werder integrates news, game plans, tactic analysis and videos about the team and the players of Werder Bremen in one app. A quartet game based on the current performance of each player provides a lot of fun – even without internet connection. Up to four players can fight for the best Werder Bremen players. Thomas Kitlitschko, General Manager of Neofonie Mobile, is pleased about the award: “Especially in the field of sports, the fans are concerned with the up-to-dateness of facts and data in connection with entertainment. This requires a clear understanding of the needs of the users, which finally can only be reflected by working in a partnership with our clients.”
The European Digital Media Awards is hosted by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) and focuses on digital media and mobile strategies that address the way people consume news and information today. Besides Mein Werder, Zeit Online was awarded for its paid content model Z+. The most awards were won by the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.
